Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
We’re seeking a proactive and organised Legal Coordinator to provide high-quality support to the Head of Governance & Legal on a 12-month fixed term contract and contribute to the smooth running of the College’s legal and governance operations.
This role will see you assisting with legal research, contract management, and policy review, while coordinating key committees and providing support on privacy and complaints matters. You’ll play an important role in ensuring compliance, consistency, and efficiency across legal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with legal research, contract drafting, and policy reviews
- Managing the College’s contract management system and supporting legal administration
- Providing advice and coordination support for committees such as the Appeals, Review, and Professional Standards Committees
- Acting as the primary contact for complaints and privacy-related enquiries
- Conducting compliance audits against regulatory and statutory requirements
- Coordinating with external legal providers and supporting budget management
- Assisting with the organisation of key governance meetings, including the Annual General Meeting
This role may require some out of hours work and occasional travel within Australia and New Zealand. The College offers time off in lieu and flexible working arrangements at times when out of hours work is required.

- Australian and New Zealand legal, regulation and legislation experience.
- Ability to respond quickly and creatively to unexpected and complex work demands and identify necessary legal, regulation and/or policy changes as required.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- A positive and flexible attitude to workplace responsibilities, with demonstrated initiative and a capacity to work independently and as a member of a team in an environment that deals with sensitive and confidential information.
